ACCGA Joint Statement

Anti-Poverty Week May Be Over, But Our Work Continues

The official Anti-Poverty Week may have ended, but our efforts to combat child poverty in Australia are far from over. Now is the time to intensify our focus, ensuring that any missed insights are shared and acted upon to drive meaningful change.

During Anti-Poverty Week (October 13-19), the ACCGA released a powerful joint statement, urging governments to take immediate action to address the root causes of poverty. They called for bold and decisive measures to break the cycle of disadvantage that continues to affect families, communities, and—most critically—children.

Let’s keep the momentum going as we work together to create a future where every child has the opportunity to thrive.
